I’m Marli Kicz, a corporate lawyer and entrepreneur with a passion for helping creators and small businesses find innovative solutions to their unique challenges

Marli Kicz is an experienced corporate lawyer offering legal consultancy services tailored to virtual businesses, digital creators and entrepreneurs.

Passionate about cultivating her own practice that would fuse her professional experience and personal interests, Marli founded Kiczco to help her clients successfully forge their own paths, armed with a solid legal foundation and commercial guidance from a dedicated legal advisor. 

Marli views her clients as innovators, and her primary objective is to help bring their unique visions to life. She is committed to ensuring the proper legal safeguards are in place to adequately protect the brands and businesses her clients have worked so hard to build. Above all, Marli’s goal is to empower her clients to navigate the legal complexities of the business world and the evolving creator economy with confidence.

Professional Journey

  • Marli spent several years in London, United Kingdom where she was awarded her Law Degree and achieved a Master of Laws in International Legal Professional Practice, completing her dissertation on intellectual property and data protection laws in the wake of the GDPR regime.

    Following her academic pursuits, Marli commenced her legal career practicing as an international corporate lawyer for a prestigious global law firm, advising clients such as: public and private companies, private equity firms, sophisticated investors, and major pension funds, insurance companies, and financial institutions on a range of legal and commercial matters across North America and EMEA markets.

  • Marli continued her legal career in the United States, advising major private equity firms in Boston and New York on complex corporate transactions valuing over $2BN. Later, Marli’s ambition led her to attend New York University in an effort to diversify her educational background.

    At NYU, Marli completed courses in Business Management, Social Media Marketing, and Digital Consumer Analytics to enhance her understanding of the development, implementation and management of digital innovation at all business levels. Focusing on the principles and practices of the creator economy, Marli deepened her understanding of how social media channels are used to build brands, and how to optimize the use of technology in conjunction with effective digital consumer and influencer marketing strategies.

  • On her return to Canada, Marli passed the Canadian law equivalency examinations and was awarded a Certificate of Qualification by the Federation of Law Societies of Canada. Following this, Marli successfully completed the Ontario lawyer licensing exams and will be admitted to the Bar of Ontario, achieving dual-legal qualification status in Canada and the UK.

    Leveraging her extensive legal education and professional experience, Marli pursued her ultimate goal of founding her own entrepreneurial venture, Kicz & Company Limited.

Marli is dedicated to providing exceptional client service, learning the intricacies of each client’s enterprise, and addressing the various needs of her diverse clientele.
